In 2025, Theun Nouwens combined his fascination with the Northern Renaissance with a contemporary approach to form and design. Although distanced from religion, his lifelong interest in biblical art and storytelling inspired him to reinterpret these traditions in a modern way. For his graduation project, he created an altarpiece that reflects both social themes and personal experiences, depicting scenes from today’s society. The work was presented at the Dutch Design Week Graduation Show 2025.
