In 2025, Theun Nouwens embarked on a journey to rediscover forgotten imitation and painting techniques. Inspired by centuries-old practices of mixing natural pigments with oil and egg tempera, he experimented with raw materials and handmade paints, reviving artisanal methods in a contemporary and personal way. For his bachelor graduation project, he created a decorative object that served as a canvas for these explorations, blending historical craftsmanship with modern artistic expression.
